Zybex Power Servers

Zybex offers a powerful line of servers optimized for maximum efficiency and availability. Utilizing RAID technology, we house the server in a top of the line Server case, with 8 fans for cooling and dual redundant power supply.

This arrangement protects against these following common computer failures:

  1. Hard Disk failure In computers, the single most vulnerable component is the hard disk drive. It is constantly spinning, therefore subject to motion wear and tear, and it holds all of your vital data. Even though tape drive systems will provide a backup of your data, it is still an arduous task to recreate a new hard drive with all of the previous settings, preferences and software.A hard disk crash may result in several days of downtime, even though no data is lost.

To guard against this type of downtime, Zybex utilizes RAID technology and provides a redundant disk system. If one drive fails, the other drives continue working. There is no down time. The system continues to run.The failed disk is pulled out, a new one is inserted, and the system rebuilds itself.

  2. Power Supply Failure: This is the second most common computer failure. A power supply failure usually does not result in any data loss, but the system will stop working. Zybex is using special Server cases that have a dual redundant power supplies. This means if one power supply fails, the other keeps working. The system remains working. The failed power supply is pulled out and a new one is plugged in.
  3. System overheating: Most PC’s have only one fan, located in the power supply. Today’s high speed CPU’s and memory generate more heat and adequate cooling is very important. The Zybex server cases have 4 to 8 separate fans to insure proper ventilation.
